Privacy policy
What this site does with information about you. It is specific rather than general, because a policy that describes a business in the abstract tells you nothing about this one.

Who this policy is about
This policy applies to SNJ Projects (ABN 76 525 983 656), trading as SNJ Legal, and to this website.
Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to hello@snjlegal.com.au. There is one inbox and it is monitored by the founder.
What is collected, and when
From the enquiry form: your name, your email address, your phone number, your company, and whatever you write in the message. Those five fields are the whole of it, all five are required, and nothing is inferred, appended or bought from anywhere else.
From the document assessment: nothing, unless you choose to send it. The questions are answered and scored entirely in your browser and the result is shown to you before anything is asked. If you then send an enquiry from the result page, the message drafted for you carries your score and the questions you did not score full marks on. That is what is sent, it is editable before you send it, and nothing goes anywhere if you do not.
Automatically, by the web host: the standard request information any server records: network address, timestamp, the page requested, and the browser string. This is what serving and securing a website consists of.
When you submit the form, a one-way hash of your network address is held in memory for one hour to stop the same source submitting repeatedly. It is never written to a database, never logged, and cannot be reversed into an address.
What is not collected
There is no analytics on this site. No page views are counted, no sessions are recorded, and no profile of you is built.
There are no cookies. Not functional ones, not preference ones, and not third-party ones. The site sets nothing in your browser and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
There are no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no social widgets and no embedded video. Nothing on any page loads from a third-party domain: fonts, styles and images are all served from this site.
The one exception is the internal area at /manual, which sets a single sign-in cookie for staff. It is not reachable without a password and it is not part of the public site.
Why it is collected
To reply to your enquiry, and to work out whether an engagement makes sense. That is the only purpose.
Your phone number is there so the reply can be a call rather than another email, when a call is the faster way to answer what you asked. It is not used for anything else.
Your details are not used for direct marketing. There is no mailing list, there is no newsletter, and you will not receive a sequence of follow-up emails. One reply, and then it is your move.
Nothing is sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing, in any circumstances.
Who else processes it
Two providers, each doing one thing on our behalf and neither using your information for their own purposes.
Zoho Mail carries your enquiry to us as email and holds our mailboxes, which is where it stays. Vercel hosts the site and serves the pages.
That is the complete list. No other service receives your information, and there is no separate customer database, no CRM and no marketing platform behind this form.
Where it is held
Enquiries submitted through this site may be stored and processed outside Australia, including in the United States, because the providers above operate globally.
By sending an enquiry you accept that it may be handled overseas. If that is a problem for you, email us instead of using the form and say so.
How long it is kept
An enquiry that does not become an engagement is kept in our mailbox for two years and then deleted, because after two years it is neither useful nor anybody’s business.
An enquiry that becomes an engagement is kept with the engagement records for seven years after the engagement ends.
Either can be deleted sooner on request. Server logs held by the host are kept on the host’s own retention schedule and are not within our control.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. Your enquiry is sent from the site to our mailbox over an authenticated, encrypted connection, and the credential that does that is held on the server and is not present in anything sent to your browser.
No claim is made that any system is impossible to breach. What is true is that this site holds very little: five fields per enquiry, no payment details, no passwords, and no information about anybody who has not chosen to write to us.
If a breach occurred that was likely to cause serious harm, affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner would be notified.
Seeing it, correcting it, deleting it
Email hello@snjlegal.com.au and ask. You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted.
A reply within five business days, and the request actioned within thirty. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
If a request is refused (which would be unusual, and only where something is required to be kept) the reason is given in writing.
Complaints
If you think your information has been mishandled, email hello@snjlegal.com.au with the detail. You will get a written response within thirty days.
If that response does not resolve it, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. You do not need our agreement to do that.
Changes to this policy
If this site starts doing something it does not do today (analytics, for example) this page changes before that happens rather than after.
Every version is dated, and superseded versions are kept. If you need to know what this page said on a particular date, ask.
