About
SNJ Legal exists because the document layer of a growing business is nobody’s job until it becomes everybody’s problem.
Background
Why this exists
The pattern that started this business repeats in almost every company between ten and two hundred people. Commercial documents are produced under time pressure, saved wherever the person producing them saves things, and then reused by someone else who does not know what changed or why.
None of that is a failure of judgement. It is a failure of filing, versioning and ownership: three problems that have well-understood solutions and that almost nobody applies to contracts, because contracts feel like they belong to somebody else.
SNJ Legal treats the document layer as infrastructure. The work is inventory, structure, version control, approval flow and handover. It is unglamorous, it is finite, and when it is done the company can answer a simple question (what are our current terms) in under a minute.
Pricing
Why every engagement is a fixed fee
Hourly billing makes the client carry the risk of an estimate they were never in a position to check. It also makes the honest question (how long will this take) the one question nobody wants asked.
Every engagement here is scoped to a fixed fee before it starts, with the scope written down as a clause and the exclusions written down beside it. If the scope changes, that is a new number agreed in advance, not a surprise at the end of the month.
Structure
What SNJ Legal is, and is not
SNJ Legal is a business services company. It designs and implements document systems: template libraries, version control, approval workflows, registers and the tooling that holds them.
SNJ Legal is not a law practice, does not provide legal advice, does not prepare documents on your behalf and does not act for you in any matter. Nobody at SNJ Legal is presented as being qualified to do so.
Where an engagement reaches a question about what a document means or what it should say, that question goes to your own external adviser. Part of the value of the system is that it makes that referral cheap: the adviser receives the current version, the history and the specific question, instead of a folder.

Next step
Who runs this
Every engagement is run by the person who scoped it, start to finish, against a documented method. Nothing is handed down, and nothing is learned twice at your expense.
